More Weather Misery but the Show goes on!!!!!

Extremely cold overnight - minus 12c - left us with frozen water pipes again so we have had to carry water again all day and it also froze one of our heating oil pipes. Fortunately our boiler engineer lives locally and we managed to get it all thawed out and working by the time two groups of mothers & toddlers arrived. The pipes have all be re insulated so we should now be OK.

The snow has made for a very festive atmosphere with the Living Farm Nativity and Santa and his reindeers in his cottage in the forest

Snow chaos!!!!

The snow is causing us lots of problems. Whilst it might look very pretty when you are trying to look after livestock it makes life very difficult. We had about 12 inches of snow yesterday and a further 3 inches this morning...supposed to have been snow showers today but it hasn't stopped since 8.00am this morning!!!! Most of our drinkers are frozen up and we are having to carry water in buckets for most of the livestock. When you think that each cow drinks between 140 and 200 litres a day.....that's a lot of water to carry. Probably the only ones enjoying this are the reindeers.

We are OPEN and the drive is still passable and the A159 is currently OK. We are having to reschedule a lot of Christmas parties so hopefully the weather will pick up soon.

On the bright side it is only 23 sleeps to Christmas

A Bit About Rand Farm Park

Rand Farm Park is a genuine working farm for children of all ages to enjoy.
You will find us in rural Lincolnshire near the main A158 Lincoln to Skegness road, about two miles on the Lincoln side of Wragby.

We have a large variety of animals for you to hold, feed, touch and cuddle.

Our indoor heated play areas ensure the fun doesn't stop when the weather's bad.

There's also a spacious tearoom, which seats up to 120, so the everyone can treat themselves to a lovely cuppa and a bite to eat after a day's fun and activity.

Our interactive information centre will tell you lots of interesting stuff about our farm and the animals that live here.

The large out door adventure playground will help you let off steam and you can jump aboard one of our many tractor and trailer rides.

We are a “Quality Assured Visitor Attraction” and silver award winners in the “enjoy england excellence awards 2005 and 2006”.

We look forward to meeting you here very soon...
